Framing Requirement:
All work must be properly framed and ready to be hung as follows. Watercolors and photographs should be framed and have glass or preferably plexiglass protecting the face of the art. Plexiglass instead of glass is required for framed pieces larger than 20" in either dimension. Wrap-around canvases will be accepted without frames provided the painting continues around the outside edge and does not have staples on the outside edges. All framed work must have suitable wire to accommodate the weight of the work and must have flat type wire connectors (D-rings) to avoid damage to walls and other art. D-rings should be secured approximately 1/3 of the height from the top of the frame. Stretch the wire tight. The raw ends of the wire must be taped. No sawtooths, clamps, clips or screw eyes can be used. Oils and acrylics should be thoroughly dry prior to exhibiting. I understand that artwork that is not framed appropriately may be rejected.
Eligibility Requirement:
All Artists in Santa Clara County who work in 2D media are eligible to apply. All artwork must be original work by the submitting artist. No copies of other artist's work will be accepted. No works depicting nude figures will be accepted for showing. There is no charge to display your work and the Library does not take commission on work sold at the display nor does it handle any sales that might result from the display. The Artist is responsible for making the title cards to be displayed with the painting. Title cards (business card size/printed and not hand written) should contain the artist's contact information so that sales can be handled directly between the artist and the customer. Artwork does not have to be for sale. Individuals are responsible for submitting their work on time to designated exhibition sites and for pick-up after the showing. The Cupertino Library/Foundation reserves the right to refuse to hang works that it deems objectionable or unqualified for showing.
Loss or Damage Disclaimer
Santa Clara County Library and Cupertino Library Foundation assume no responsibility or liability whatsoever, regardless of cause, for the loss or damage to exhibitor property and supplies during installation, public display or removal of the exhibition. The library and Foundation assume no responsibility for artwork that remains unclaimed after the pickup date at the end of the show. I hereby release Santa Clara County Library and Cupertino Library Foundation from all liability involving damage or theft of my artwork.
I have read and agree to abide by the framing requirement and eligibility requirement. I have read loss and damage disclaimer and agree with all above terms and conditions.
